Danso

Kwadwo Danso is a vocalist, songwriter and band leader whose musical identity is rooted in family, church and Ghanaian heritage.

Roots and Beginnings

Born in Kokofu Mensase in Ghana’s Ashanti Region into a musically gifted family, Kwadwo began singing in church at just six years old.

Early Musical Journey

At 12, he joined the S.D.A. Church singing band as an alto singer. He later became an active member of the Presbyterian Church choir and singing band.

Building a Career

Kwadwo moved to Kokofu to co-found a band with friends. His career later took him to Accra, where he performed with the Soldiers Band and Police Band. He also joined the Peace Band in Anyinam and helped form and lead the Okwahuman Band in Kwahu.

Leadership and Character

Known as a humble, peaceful and approachable band leader, Kwadwo is respected for fostering harmony and unity within his groups.

Today

He currently performs with Classic Band in Nkawkaw and remains an active songwriter and composer with numerous original works to his name.
